Eric Eckert

I'm Professor Eckert, a Computer Science faculty member here at Estrella Mountain. I also teach in the Applied Computing (ACO) program at ASU West. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering from Northern Arizona University and a Masters in Computer Science from Arizona State University. I have spent my career actively involved in the IT field in the Phoenix metro area. In 2002, I cofounded a software company focused primarily on the Property & Casualty Insurance industry. With the help of my partners, we had grown this company to several hundreds of employees worldwide with offices in Scottsdale, India, UK and Canada. We sold the company in early 2015 and I retired from there in June 2016. I now teach full time here at EMCC.

So, I have an academic, commercial and entrepreneurial background. Hopefully I can leverage these to give you a well-rounded instruction in Computer Science.

I am very open to talking to existing or prospective students about any/all of the following: Computer Science, electronics, life, investing, starting a company, going to University, anything interesting or cool, a project you want to build, etc. My door is open and I don't believe in separating life into compartments. Let's explore stuff. You don't need to be a student of mine to stop by.
