Erik.Huntsinger
Greetings!
I've been a full time economics instructor at EMCC since 2006, teaching both Microeconomic Principles (ECN212) and Macroeconomic Principles (ECN211). I also teach Teaching and Learning in the Community College (EDU250) to new faculty members. I started my tenure as the faculty director for EMCC's Center for Teaching and Learning in July 2017 and enjoy helping faculty and staff attain professional development so we can all better serve our students.
I moved to Arizona from California when I was 10 years old. I attended Mountain Pointe High School and enrolled as an honors student at Arizona State University, where I initially studied psychology because of my interest in human behavior. This later led me to economics, which was the pivot in my journey leading me to my faculty position today. To better serve my college and its students, I completed a doctorate in education in Community College Leadership from Ferris State University in 2015.
My interests include hiking, yoga, weight training, reading a wide variety of fiction and non-fiction books, cooking, watching classic and new movies, camping, national and international travel, and running my little dog Lucy.
I've been happily married to my amazing wife Lysistrata since 2012. We have two sons, Paul (born 2016) and Arden (born 2020) who keep us busy and happy.
