By nature....I am a life-long-learner and absolutely love mentorship (being the mentee and a mentor).
I am the Student Services Analyst (aka Program Manager) for the Community Education-Non Credit programs here at Estrella Mountain Community College (EMCC). I have been with EMCC for a total of 7 years starting out as a student worker back in 2014. I have worked in various roles, departments, and support services on campus to help me gain the knowledge to help YOU be successful. Our programs are located in the Center for Workforce & Experiential Learning on campus, where we also help students connect to employers through internships, career interviews, job shadows, career panels, and workshops.
I also teach First-Year Experience 101 & 103, here at EMCC and Public Administration 100 at Rio Salado and LOVE teaching students new things to help them be successful as well as learn new things from my students to help me grow. I take that mentorship relationship very seriously and bring it with me in all of my roles as a staff or faculty member.
Take a look at the quote I listed to the right. This quote has kept me going when I felt that imposter syndrome kick in or had fear of the unknown throughout my career. I know that I just listed all of the cool things I get to do now as a staff and faculty member, but please know- I am human. I knew I wanted to be where I am today, someday, but I didn't always know how to get here. My biggest advice- ask the experts about their journeys when they were beginners and how they got to where they are now, trust me it is enlightening.
