Dr. Dori Navarette-Lynch has been part of the Estrella family for the past three years in the capacity of an OYO counselor and adjunct counselor/instructor. She is thrilled to be continuing as an OYO counselor for the 2016-17 school year. Prior to Estrella, she worked at several MCCCD campuses serving in the capacity of counselor as well as an instructor for a variety of Counseling and Personal Development courses including Strategies for College Success, Intro to Multiculturalism, and Creating College Success. She taught Career Success and Critical Thinking courses on-line for Everest College for 3 years in addition to being a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University teaching in their innovative Student Success Program.
Dori earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and a Masters of Education in Counseling from Arizona State University. In 2005, she earned a Ph.D. in Education Counseling from Madison University. She taught elementary school for 5 years and was a high school counselor for 25 years. After retiring from Mesa Public Schools in 2012, she transitioned to the community college. She is an Arizona native, has been married to her high school sweetheart for 30 years and together they have 3 wonderful children.
Dori loves serving the students, faculty, and staff at EMCC and thoroughly embraces opportunities to get involved in campus projects and committees. This year she will be serving as the Counseling Division representative for the Diversity Core Values committee, “I will Graduate” committee and will be the liaison for Advising and Occupational Education.
Dori looks forward to promoting and supporting EMCC’s service strategy “Your Success is our Success.”
