Dori.Navarette-Lynch
Hi! My name is Dori Lynch and I am thrilled to be a part of the Estrella family. I am beginning my 10th year at EMCC, the first four I served as adjunct both instructional and service faculty. Currently, I am beginning my 6th year as Residential Counseling Faculty.
Prior to Estrella, I worked at several MCCCD campuses serving in the capacity of an adjunct counselor, as well as an instructor for a variety of Counseling and Personal Development courses including Strategies for College Success, Intro to Multiculturalism, and Creating College Success. I also taught Career Success and Critical Thinking courses on-line for Everest College for 3 years. In addition I was a Faculty Associate at Arizona State University teaching in their innovative Student Success Program.
I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and a Masters of Education in Counseling from Arizona State University. In 2005, I earned a Ph.D. in Education Counseling from Madison University. I taught elementary school for 5 years and was a high school counselor for 25 years. After retiring from Mesa Public Schools in 2012, I transitioned to the community college.
I am an Arizona native and love the heat and all that Arizona has to offer. I love being a grandma, reading, and spending time with my family. Tennis is my outlet and most days, you can find me on the courts.
I met my husband at age 15, and we just celebrated our 37 wedding anniversary. We have three grown children, two wonderful daughter in laws, a wonderful son in law, and three amazing grandchildren.
I feel fortunate to be a part of the Estrella family and the opportunity to work with outstanding colleagues and students.
I truly embrace and support our motto “Your Success is our Success.”
Hope to see you in one of my courses!
