I have been teaching as a fulltime residential faculty member for the Maricopa Community Colleges system since fall, 1999. Prior to teaching I worked in the aerospace industry for14 years.
My courses are taught with the following objectives in mind:
• Aquiring math skills using both an algebraic and graphical approach.
• Applying math skills using activities designed to allow you to analyze, synthesize and communicate your findings both verbally, graphically and in writing.
By not focusing exclusively on algebraic skill acquisition and manipulation, you will gain a broader understanding of how mathematics is used and applied in real world settings.
I have high expectations for all of my students, will do all I can to help you have a successful semester and only ask that you do the same. Of upmost importance in my courses are attending class regularly because what is done in class cannot always be found in the textbook. If you are willing to come to class regularly and on time, study regularly and turn in assignments on time, you are well on your way to having a successful semester in any of the courses I teach. I look forward to meeting you in the future and look forward to being your instructor.
A few of the hobbies I enjoy in my off time are traveling, hiking, mountain biking and photography.
