Jana Gunn was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona, and attended North High School in Phoenix, and graduated from Greenway High School in Glendale. She attended both Glendale Community College and Phoenix College, and earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Justice Studies at Arizona State University in Tempe, and Master of Public Administration from Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah.
During Jana's career, she worked in support services for the Arizona Juvenile Department of Corrections, with the Arizona Department of Corrections Rehabilitation and Reentry as a Corrections Officer and as the Constituent Services Manager. She also worked as an Adult Probation Officer for Maricopa County Adult Probation, as well as a Victim Advocate with the Maricopa County Attorney's Office and the Arizona Attorney General's Office. In addition, Jana also unsuccessfully ran for public office as the Arrowhead Justice of the Peace.
Jana currently teaches Victimology and Crisis Management at EMCC.
