Jill Nico currently serves full time as the Student Services Specialist Senior for Disability Resources and Services. In this capacity, she assures equal access for students with disabilities, provides individualized coaching, plans campus events related to disability issues for young adults, and is a liaison for community partners.
She has served in higher education in various roles, including adjunct faculty, for 20 years. She has served in Disability Resources & Services as Manager at GateWay Community College and Paradise Valley Community College.
Jill has been married to her husband Peter for 30 years, and is the parent of two adult sons, including a son born with Down syndrome. She has seventeen years’ experience supporting families of children with disabilities in her own community and through organizations such as Raising Special Kids. She is passionate about sharing what she has learned with others and speaks frequently on disability related services and issues.
Jill enjoys teaching a non-credit computer class to adults with developmental disabilities at EMCC. Outside of her work in higher education and community support; she enjoys archery, leading group fitness classes at the YMCA, and camping with her family.
