Jimmy Fike was born in Birmingham, Alabama in 1970. He holds a BA in Art from Auburn University and a MFA in Photography from the Cranbrook Academy of Art. Jim's photographic work explores the relationship between ecology, place, technology, individualism and institutional influence. His artwork has been displayed in over seventy exhibitions across the nation and is in the permanent collections of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and the George Eastman House International Museum of Photography and Film. When not teaching or making art Jim enjoys hiking, playing guitar, reading, cooking and petting his awesome dog Sallie.
