Jill.Nico
Jill currently serves full time as the Student Services Manager in the Disability Resources and Services office. In this capacity, she assures equitable access and supports for students with disabilities, provides individualized coaching and advising, and plans campus events and trainings related to disability issues in higher education.
Jill has served in higher education for 23 years in various roles, including Adjunct Faculty in Mathematics and First Year Experience as well as Disability Resources & Services at three colleges within the Maricopa County Community College District. Jill is an experienced liaison and volunteer for community partners, with twenty (20) years’ supporting families of children with disabilities in her own community and through organizations such as Raising Special Kids. She is passionate about sharing what she has learned with others and presents on disability related services and issues with a focus on transition to adulthood. Jill especially enjoys teaching credit non-credit classes (including classes for adults with developmental disabilities) at EMCC.
Jill has been married to her husband Peter for 33 years, and is the parent of two adult sons, including a son born with Down syndrome. Outside of her work in higher education and community support; you will often find Jill on the archery range, teaching fitness classes, coaching Special Olympics, out in the pasture with her horse, and camping with her family.
